Select a complete source prio list

As some weather sources have a limited range, currently flowx has a default fallback (GFS). I’d really like to be able to select a complete list of sources, getting data from the next one, when the curtent has no data.

Here’s an example chain i’d like to have:

  • DWD Cosmo D2 for high presicion 27h forcast
  • DWD ICON EU for midrange forcast of 5 day
  • GFS 15km as fallback
But I guess simular setups would be nice for other regions, for example using metro france.

Hope it’s clear what I want to have.

This is on my todo list as well. At the moment is defined in a settings file (as opposed to hard coded) so it shouldn’t be too complex.

Cheers, Duane.

Hi! I’d like to second Wabu’s request, and be so bold to ask about the progress of implementing this! I know that is a big no-no in the developer world so sorry, but can we expect it anytime soon? It’d be perfect to be able to use the ICON models as fallback for my location here in the Italian Alps!

First time on the forum, so I’d also like to say that I really like this app, so cool to have all these data sources at our disposal!

@Atse, It’s not likely to be soon. Currently more users are asking for Air Quality data, Notifications and the Theme Editor. So this will likely come after these.

Alright, I’ll just have to be patient! Thanks for the message!

Would love to see this implemented. I’m using Arome, which is great, but only lasts an hour. Falling back to GFS after an hour is really not ideal when there are much better sources with a long time range!

You mentioned a settings file, is this something we could play around with ourselves or is it not accessible?

Thanks!

As long as there’s a way to reload a “default” settings file, I likewise would love to play with (and potentially break) this.
