Export/import settings(?)

Hi

A while back is use to be possible to export/import settings to/from one or more files.

I think this would be verry useful, for when migrating to a new phone, or setting up a second device to one’s liking, especially since flowx offers so much customisation.

Is this on the list already?

Is it only me, or do other find this feature of high value?

Cheers!

New Flowx has brilliant, unique, user customisation and restoring this feature would be most welcome.

It is on the todo list but it’s not a priority for two reasons: 1. it’s a high maintenance feature and 2. it only affects a small number of users (new phones or reinstall).

The maintenance is updating the export/import feature every time some place, graph or setting is changed. Not only that, if I change the way something is saved, I have to keep code to cope with old versions of data.

I can export/import places because that is just exporting the place name and coordinates - easy.

Graphs and layouts are still in a state of flux so I probably won’t export those yet.

Settings change too much and can be the cause of crashes so I won’t export those.

Also because emailing is hard on iOS, only Android will get this feature.

It’s on the list but low priority. Obviously, adding new data sources are higher priority.

The last time I bought a new Android phone I used a migration app that moved data to the new phone that was identical to the old one.

Other than having to retype passwords I don’t recall having to do anything with most apps including Flowx.

You can only choose one. Which would you choose?

I don’t know what half that stuff is!

Like I said, everything works fine after transferring the app to a new phone and it has all the information I need. :slightly_smiling_face:
