Hi, since the last beta update, graphs are not rendered properly on the main screen and widget. I get a black box in the main screen and a error “no content” on the widget. Everywhere else they are rendered correctly though, when comparing models or editing the graphs. I already tried to reset the graphs and to reinstall the app, but nothing has changed. I also tried to change the widget source but no luck there either.
I’m on Android 11, on a Ulefone PowerArmor 14.
Its a bit of a bummer because other than that, I’m really excited to try out this new version, especially the new graph editor.

Update: I’m not sure if it’s related, but experienced quite extreme flickering on everything for a moment, but it seems to go away on it’s own…

The screenshot only show black sections, but many things flickered between multiple state(selected or not etc.)

There are two bugs here: 1. blank areas on Android 10/11 phones; 2. widgets not refreshing.

  1. Blanks areas on Android 10/11. This is a bug in the 4.078 release. I have halted the release. I have fixed the bug in release 4.080 which should be available now.

  2. The widgets are just plain hard. Flowx does not handle the widgets. The phone OS and launcher does this job. The phone OS/launcher says to Flowx, “refresh widget X with the size width x height”, Flowx generates a image of the graphs, etc… and says to the OS, “here’s a image to draw in the widget”. Across all the OS’s, launchers, phones, Android versions, so many things can go wrong and it’s hard to debug.

This is what I’ve found can work:

  1. click the refresh button on the widget.
  2. edit the widget
  3. resize the widget
  4. add another widget
  5. if the new widget renders, click refresh on the new widget.
  6. set Flowx Settings > Advanced > Widget Source to Link or Image
  7. set the Android Settings > Apps > Flowx > Battery Optimization > to unrestricted.

If you’re using a third-part custom launcher, turn it off and try this with the default phone launcher.
