Is public NOAA GFS safe?

After the DOGE tornado and nearly a year of threats from the top of the federal administration, is NOAA’s open science safe?
From the US, what do you see in the short, medium, and long term—damaged, wrecked, alive? (from Europe, fuzzy)
And in the end, will our beloved GFS survive all this?

I’ve been wondering this too. Thanks for raising the question.

Com’on Duane, this link does not add anything on the substance.
How is the situation now?

The message in that post is vote.

The message now is nearly the same - contact your representatives.

I guess the general message is don’t be apathetic and encourage others not to be apathetic.

Here in southern New England (USA) I find CMC HRDPS to be far superior to NOAA HRRR, so if NOAA goes away I won’t miss it.

But I agree, vote!
