I actually bought the device to detect lightning. This allows access to the lightning data to put into the app but with a 10 minute delay.
However, I’m going to hold back on adding new types of data and focus on weather model data (e.g. more model and data at altitudes). So this is pretty low on the list.
It’s a pity you abandoned this. You already have the device and was requested by multiple people.
But you know better. Maybe hard to implement or more important things to develop. For me personally, 10 min delay is more than enough.
Thanks for this great app.
Imagine training for 100m sprints and then taking on another event. Adding a new data source or a feature that uses the weather model data is like taking on the 200m or 400m events. Adding lightning is like taking on high jump.
A lot of people ask for many different things, e.g., accumulated precipitation and “feels like” temperature is much more requested and it is built on existing features and data.
Lightning would be a completely new block of code to write and maintain.
