I’ve been using Flowx for a while. I really like the interface.
Lately I’ve been thinking about the drop-down menu for selecting the climate model, and how it can look confusing for a new user since the place name is written in the same place (it was for me).
So if I can make a suggestion, I’d say this could be better if we had two drop-down menus, one for the climate model, and another for the location.
Considering that most people will likely be more interested in changing location, I’d leave the location name on the left side as a drop-down menu to change between saved locations.
The climate model drop-down menu could then be at the right side.
I think this would be less confusing, since each action would be on a different menu.
@cgrohmann Hello and Welcome to the Forum and Thank you for Using Flowx. The Place List Name is Under the 3 Horizontal Lines if you tap location name at the top where it says Blah then GFS under it that’s where you select model.
I know where the places list is. I’m saying that I think it might be easier for users if the places list was also located on the top bar.
When I started using Flowx, I saw myself constantly tapping over the Place Name+Model when I wanted to change the Place, and I think that might be because we have both the name of the place (larger) and the name of the model in the same position on the screen.
Space is an issue on phones which would make it difficult to fit the model list in to the side.
There is a new major rewrite coming out where the model list is part of the map menu at the bottom. My plan is to add a setting to set the behavior of the place label - open list of models or open list of places.
