Strange new widget behavior

For the last couple of days my widgets (I have 3 on my screen) are blank until I open and close “Edit Widget.” Then after a few seconds the data appears. I need to do that individually for each widget.

I’m using a Pixel 8a running Android 17. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks.

This has been reported by three users. A fix is being tested at the moment and if it works, I’ll release it.

All going well, the new release should be out in a few days.

This morning the issue didn’t resolve with “Edit Widget” so I rebooted the phone and now all is well! Maybe I should have done that to begin with?

My three favorite solutions to various kinds of issues are:

  1. WD-40
  2. Cable ties
  3. Reboot

Glad this one worked!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

You shouldn’t need to reboot. Open the app which should refresh the list of forecasts and then a manual refresh on the widget should work.

The list of forecasts from the app is leaking into the widget. If it’s old, the widget will request old forecasts which don’t exist anymore on the server so it won’t plot any data.

I tried all that but for some reason it took a reboot to get things back to normal. Now the widgets refresh after a few seconds no matter what I change. Before, if I switched models the widgets would go blank.
