V4.x Graph Colour Picker, Export/Import function

Hi Duane, I’ve been enjoying the new Android versions on both my phone & tablet, awesome work!

I have three requests if you could consider adding to your substantial list … kind of related.

  1. a Colour Picker for choosing Graph colours with the ability to type in RGB or Hex values. I’ve attached the colour picker from MS Outlook for font colours as an example. Being able to record the Hex values somewhere allows me to reinstate my previous choices on another device.
  2. The ability to Export all Places & Settings to a user-choice folder (so we can copy it elsewhere) and Import to restore.
  3. Allow custom background colour for Temperature Graph (or divulge the RGB/Hex value)

Rationale for Pt 1 - Using my devices in Dark Mode the default background for the Everyday graph is orange, which is a bit hard on these old eyes at 3am with the lights off. I can easily change the background colour to almost black to try to match the background colour of the Temperature graph, but using wheel & sliders is rather imprecise, and with my right finger moving the light/dark slider left I can’t see the final colour tile.

So when setting up the tablet, trying to match the customised colours from the phone is imprecise. Having RGB/Hex values would make that task a lot easier.

Pt 2 - hopefully all settings can be exportable, including custom graph choices & colours, line widths etc. Perhaps if an Export/Import becomes available maybe Pt 1 isn’t as important.

Pt 3 - while it’s not necessary to change the background colour of the Temperature graph, not knowing the Hex value makes matching the Everyday background to Temperature hit & miss. I initially tried the blackest black and it was darker than the Temperature background. Being pedantic I’d like the side-by-side graphs to have the same background colours.

Hope these can be considered for the To Do list at some stage.

Again, thank you for doing such a fantastic job on this app, it really is brilliant.

First. Please separate feature request (and topics in general) into separate posts. Otherwise, it can get confusing especially when you have people talking about different feature without explicitly saying which feature.

  1. before the color picker was add, it was a text box for HEX. I went to color picker because this is much more user friendly for many users. I plan to add a memory of past colors to the color picker.

I was thinking of adding long-press to edit the hex but it’s low on the todo list.

Note, the more customization, the more things can go wrong and the more support emails I can to field. So I try to keep things simple.

  1. Export/Import is on the todo list. Will everything be exportable?? I don’t know - we have to wait and see. Again - keeping things simple.

  2. I think the color memory, i.e., show the recent 10 colors you visited, will help with this.
